Analytics and Advertising

Deryx may use analytics and attribution services to measure app installs, purchase flows, product performance, and abuse-prevention events. This can include device identifiers, app version, session timing, country, and event metadata that help us understand whether core features and paid flows are working correctly.

Legal basis: legitimate interest for service measurement, fraud prevention, and release monitoring, plus consent where platform rules require tracking authorization before access to advertising-related identifiers.

Information We Collect

Deryx processes the following categories of information when you use the app:

• Account and profile details such as username, email address, profile photo, and bio.
• Meal Journal records such as food names, calories, macros, meal notes, timestamps, and optional photos.
• Community content such as posts, comments, likes, follows, reports, and block actions.
• Coach content such as text prompts, recent Coach history, and food images that you choose to submit for analysis.
• Purchase and credit data such as package selection, transaction state, and available credit balance.
• Technical and usage data such as app version, device model, platform version, language, country, and crash or event logs.

Legal basis: contract fulfillment for account, journal, community, Coach, and purchase handling; legitimate interest for diagnostics and anti-abuse controls; consent for optional image, camera, photo library, microphone, and tracking access.

Voice and Audio Processing

If you enable microphone-based experiences available inside Deryx or connected in-app web content, voice input is processed only for the active session needed to deliver that feature. Deryx does not require microphone access for standard browsing, Meal Journal entry, or text-based Coach use.

Audio submitted through microphone-enabled experiences is not stored in the Deryx app after the session completes. Temporary processing logs may be retained for up to 24 hours to diagnose delivery failures or investigate abuse reports.

Legal basis: consent for microphone access and contract fulfillment for the voice-enabled feature you deliberately initiate.

Camera and Photo Access

Deryx requests camera access so you can capture meal photos, add images to public posts, update your profile picture, and create food diary entries without leaving the app.

Camera access is optional. If you decline, you can still use text-based posting and meal logging. Legal basis: consent for camera permission and contract fulfillment when you choose to attach a new photo.

Photo Library Access

Deryx requests photo library access so you can attach existing images to Meal Journal entries, public posts, Coach requests, or profile updates.

Only the images you select are processed by the app. Deryx does not scan your entire library. Legal basis: consent for photo access and contract fulfillment for the content action you choose.

Payments and Credits

Deryx offers credit packages through in-app purchase flows. Payment card data is handled by the platform payment provider, not stored directly by Deryx. Deryx receives transaction status, package details, and the credit balance needed to unlock paid features.

Legal basis: contract fulfillment for delivering purchased credits, recordkeeping obligations for financial compliance, and legitimate interest for fraud monitoring around purchase events.

User Content and Community

Public posts, comments, likes, profile details, follow counts, and similar community actions are visible within the Deryx community according to the feature you use. Reports and block actions are used to moderate the service and protect other members.

Deryx may remove content, restrict visibility, or suspend features when content appears unlawful, abusive, misleading, infringing, or unsafe for the community. Report and moderation data is used only for service administration and safety review.

Legal basis: contract fulfillment for operating the community layer and legitimate interest for moderation, anti-abuse enforcement, and community safety.

How We Use Your Information

Deryx uses collected information to create accounts, display profiles, publish posts, maintain follow relationships, keep Meal Journal history, process credit purchases, deliver Coach responses, and support moderation or abuse prevention.

Deryx also uses technical data to keep the app stable, diagnose failures, measure feature quality, and confirm that purchases, profiles, and moderation actions are working as expected.

Medical and Nutrition Sources

Deryx Assistant and Meal Journal provide general food and nutrition information only. They do not provide diagnosis, treatment, or a personalized medical plan. If you need medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, consult a licensed clinician.

The general nutrition information shown in Deryx is grounded in the following public-health sources, which users can review directly in the app through About > Medical & Nutrition Sources and on this page:

• Dietary Guidelines for Americans - U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services.
• MyPlate Plan - U.S. Department of Agriculture.
• Healthy Eating and Physical Activity for Life - National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

Meal Journal calorie and macro totals are calculated from the food items that users log in the app. These totals are not lab-tested or clinical measurements.

Data Retention

• Account and profile records: retained while the account is active and deleted within 30 days after verified account deletion.
• Meal Journal entries, posts, and comments: retained while the account is active and removed within 30 days after verified account deletion, except where moderation or legal preservation is required.
• Coach prompts and food-image submissions: retained in active service logs for up to 30 days; recent Coach history cached on device stays until the user clears it or removes the app.
• Voice session data, where used: session only, with temporary operational logs retained up to 24 hours.
• Purchase and credit records: retained for 7 years to satisfy financial, fraud, and audit obligations.
• Crash, attribution, and diagnostic logs: retained for up to 90 days unless a longer hold is needed for a security investigation.

Third-Party Services

Deryx shares limited information with the following categories of service providers when needed to run the app:

• AI processing providers for Coach prompts and food-image analysis.
• Payment and in-app purchase providers for credit purchases and transaction verification.
• Analytics and attribution providers for install measurement, purchase events, and product diagnostics.
• Infrastructure, hosting, and support providers that keep the app available and secure.

Your Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data by emailing username@example.com with the subject line Privacy Request - Deryx. Deryx will respond within 30 days of verifying the request.

You can also delete posts, comments, and meal records in the app where those controls are available, clear Coach history from the app, revoke optional permissions from system settings, or stop using paid Coach features at any time.

Children's Privacy

Deryx is not intended for children under 13. If Deryx becomes aware that personal information from a child under 13 has been submitted without valid authorization, that information will be deleted as soon as reasonably practical.

Changes to This Policy

Deryx may update this Privacy Policy when product features, legal requirements, or service providers change. Material changes will be posted in the app and reflected on this page before the updated policy takes effect.
